I am having color issues on yellow and magenta color fill. This is a new client, so this is the first time I am working on it. The color only has roughly 65k on it and it looks, according to sim 22-6, the 60 k color was done, drums, developer, tc1 and tc2 belts. I tried swapping out magenta and yellow developing units and drums with known working ones, I have checked wall voltage, I went through a complete color calibration and made sure all voltages are set to factory settings. If you look at the pictures I have attached, paper orientation is 8" x 11" the edges are solid on top and bottom but faded in the center. I was thinking maybe swapping out the primary transfer belt to see if that resolves the issue, which I may try tomorrow. Black and Cyan don't have issues. Any ideas? And, thank you in advance.mx-2700 color.pdf

Re: Sharp MX-2700N color issue
I had something similar, and I swore it was a xfer issue. I told the tech to replace 1st xfer and it did not help. Ended up doing drums and dv, and that fixed it. Turned out previous tech reset the counters and didn't actually replace the part. Try catching some sky shots before 2nd xfer, and pull out the 1st transfer. If your lucky, you can see the fill on the drum. Good luck. -
Re: Sharp MX-2700N color issue
I'm leaning toward dirty primary corona grid(s).
Take the grids off the primary corona frame and clean them very carefully both sides with scour pad and metho. I know you said you change the drum units out.
Did you swap the original drum units around or replaced with entirely different units?
Is there a noise coming from the ITB ass'y? Might be ITB cleaner unit clogging up.

Re: Sharp MX-2700N color issue
I've had that issue before. In every case it turned out to be the toner drive pack. The corona grids in a sharp 2700 main charge aren't worth cleaning.

Re: Sharp MX-2700N color issue
Thanks for the responses. It was the primary transfer belt, all the colors are solid, now. I'm wondering if they installed a 450 kit instead of a 270 kit. Nottoosharp, I was thinking the same thing, toner drive assembly or board issues. I also agree on the charge coronas, they suck!Comment

Re: Sharp MX-2700N color issue
Those belts can easily double their rated life, so it's very likely it wasn't ever replaced.Comment

Re: Sharp MX-2700N color issue
What amazes me about the whole thing, is the customer was dealing with this issue for months, their old company of course wanted to sell them a new one. You gotta love those huge corporations, hire technicians that can't trouble- shoot, if they cant fix it, send out the salesman.Comment

Re: Sharp MX-2700N color issue
Try swapping the drum. A warped drum frame can do this. In the past I've changed the DV cartridge and rebuilt or replaced drum unit
