MXM450n jam in duplex,it will do a certain amount of copies (around 10) , jam code ''tray 1'' ,even if i use the 2nd tray the jam code is Tray 1 , the paper stop at the exit of adu right before it gets to ps unit. And there is no paper anywhere else

I have a few database entries:

Misfeeds (jam code TRAY1). After rollers are changed jam code changes (jam code PPD_ST1), after running pre-perforated cardstock & repeated jamming. Tray #1 lower separation guide is broken at its front swivel. Remove the print engine. Remove these units: drum, developing, cleaning, registration. Flip engine upside down. Remove left cassette rail to install the tray #1 lower separation guide (PGIDM1892FCZZ).

Misfeeds (jam code TRAY1). Customer has loaded used stapled packets of paper in tray #1. Load new, unstapled paper into tray #1.

Misfeeds (jam code TRAY1). Customer has loaded paper folded over at the bottom of tray #1. Load new flat paper into tray #1.

Misfeeds (jam code TRAY1). Paper krinkles in tray #1. The customer has removed the paper guide in front of the feed tire assembly in tray #1. Replace the paper guide (PCOVP1543FCZZ).

Boy, that doesn't sound right. Tray 1 Jam is very specific to paper not leaving Tray 1...

That's the point ,it's a bit weird but even if i use tray # 2 it will still jam with jam code ''tray 1'', could it be related to the drive unit ??

suggest to check/replace tray one feeding clutch.Or better replace gear box unit.

So the drive unit (or gear box) is suppose to control the 1st tray ?

The feed cassette is easy to swap out. Post a photo of the machine with the side covers open

Yup. The main drive unit (here we call gear box unit) ,got a clutch to control 1st paper tray feeding.
