We are getting a lot of jams on the machines that have the inter finisher and it doesn't mater if it has a punch unit or just the dummy punch. the paper jams between the delivery unit and the punch or dummy punch unit, and it is in such a place that the customer cannot get it out. Talked to Sharp but with now answer for problem. Firmware is all updated, and these are new machines. The machines with just the paper tray just seem to go with no problems. Just checking with techs to see if they have any ideas.

Re: MX-3070-4070-5070-6070N
We are currently working with our Sharp rep on this. We're in the guinea pig stage. A bulletin should be out soon. Can't get into too much detail but I can tell you that if you run your paper short edge until the fix is officially released you'll be fine.Comment

Re: MX-3070-4070-5070-6070N
We are having the problem with the inner finishers as well. Our jams happen when the finisher exit doesn't lift up properly, and the sheets jam at the rear frame lead edge in the finisher. We were told to put an extra wrap on the actuator spring for the sensor.....guess what.....that didn't work. Having trouble believing there is a bad component as we have at least four finishers doing this (yes, all the lower sets of black foam rollers are removed).....starting to think we may be intermittently losing a signal.Comment

Re: MX-3070-4070-5070-6070N
I have 3 of these units in a law firm, field office.....temp trial location and they are running approx 5K per day on each. I am seeing this same jam. Customer sees it as an "overheat" problem. They say once it happens it will keep happening until they let the machine sit for a few minutes to "cool down"......... I suspect what we are seeing is a static discharge problem letting the machine sit allows static to discharge and continue operation.
Looking forward to final solution with glee and anticipationComment

Re: MX-3070-4070-5070-6070N
If you run into this issue, run around 25 or so copies, open up the fuser guide and see if it's accumulated moisture on the edge. Damp paper (even from a new ream) has been my issue with this exact jam. Ran across the street to another school that we have machines at, grabbed some of their paper, ran the whole ream with no jams, or moisture. But this has just been what I've been finding a lot with this series.Comment
