[Error Code] sharp mx-2640n w/error code c4-00

Hi
I was wondering if there is a certain procedure to troubleshoot a mx-2640n that has a c4-00 code. if you turn off the main switch and turn back on
the machine goes in ready mode but when you make a copy paper jams and code c4-00 returns on display. Thanksfor your help.

Cause
The PTC unit is not installed properly./Trouble.
The primary transfer unit is not installed properly./
Trouble.
The secondary transfer unit is not installed properly./
Trouble.
High voltage TC PWB trouble.
PCU PWB trouble.
Connection trouble of the connector and the harness.
Check & Remedy
Replace the PTC unit.
Replace the primary transfer unit.
Replace the secondary transfer unit.
Check disconnection of the high voltage TC PWB
connector./Replace.
Replace the high voltage TC PWB.
Replace the PCU PWB

The simple answer to try things out and see if you fix something is removed one component at a time and reinstall it and see if the issue continues. It could be as simple as a poor connection.

Replace the high voltage TC PWB. Very common.

there are several bulletins out for c4-00 on the 2640 series. TC pwb was upgraded in sept. 2014 , if your 2640 was made before then , replace tc pwb first. bulletin mfp-tb-1084, the shafts for the clutches that shift the transfer belt were changed, bulletin mfp-tb-1272. It could be the ptc corona unit , but haven't run into that , it's been the tc pwb, shafts and clutches, and primary transfer unit. one of these or a combo of the items.

I would also get the clutch shaft mod , this mod adds e rings to the shaft that hold the clutches tighter . e-ring is now on front and back of clutch, holding clutch face tighter to clutch body for less slippage.

It's most likely the TC-PWB.

When the printer jams is there an image on the primary transfer belt or drums? If not, you can pretty much skip all the other steps and replace the board.
