    MXM565

I was wondering if anybody else is seeing the issue of toner building up on the end of the drums. It looks like it gets baked on. We have replaced the drum units, DV units and drums and it still comes back fairly quick it is happening across the whole line of BW more on the 565.

Main charge was replaced the same time as drum. This is about the 3rd or fouth time it has happened on this machine. It occurs about every 70k. Its is not the only machine we have doing this

Sharp had a theory that the waste toner bottle was not sitting in there right, causing the MC to short and pull developer. May be what you are seeing. I believe there is a bull on it

The machines are not pulling DV. I talked to Sharp and they said there are no reports of this

Reset sim 24-4 and 24-5 and running 25-2 if DV changed

oem drum ? oem toner ? also are you doing calibration, 46-24 or 46-74. there is a density sensor that sits in transfer roller unit that reads patches on drum. your pic just shows front side of drum , is toner building up in cleaning section that the toner is not leaving the drum unit , customer making a lot of copies with adf open, I am also not seeing this issue , have mxm565/564 series that run 300k in 8 months and machines that run 1k a month ,

All OEM supplies, the other end of drum has very little build up. By the time the drum got to this point there is toner everywhere at that end the end of the MC is filthy.

Have you checked the transfer roller and roller unit? Do remember the charge roller basically rides on the drum. There are really only 3 things that touch the drum in this area. It looks like by replacing dv/drum units you eliminated the first two.

                    The red felt pads
the black plastic covers on each end of the magnetic roller in the dv unit
Charge roller on the side door.

replace and install correctly with new drum side sheet (red colour) at both ends
