[CQ] Lines on first copy on MX-C312 and MX-C311

sample.jpgHi, I have 2 different machines exhibiting the same problems on the first copy. Usually only appears on the first copy and then the rest are fine. Happens after the machines have sat idle for a few minutes. Lines are front frame to rear frame direction.

Have attached a scan of the issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Judging from the diameter, I'm guessing black drum. Have you rum a sim 64?

I would agree with black drum. It is probably a drum blade. But these units are not exactly designed to rebuild, Try swapping the drum unit with a known good one and see if this remedies the problem.

Hello, Thanks for the quick replies. I have changed the drum unit, fuser unit, and secondary transfer and problem still exists. I swapped a main transfer unit which was used but still the same symptoms. Its not really a line, it looks more to me like a build up somewhere. More spotty than a blade line. Sorry for the poor picture. The 311 has 100K copies and the 312 has 4K copies and both lines are pretty much identical.Sample.jpg

If it was a build up, you would have the issue basically every copy, plus if the MX-C312 only has 4 k on it, there hasn't been time for build up. I know if these drums sit for a while the blades may cause dead spots, which may create issues. The only thing you haven't changed is the developing unit. Have you run a sim 64 to test the colors and maybe isolate the issue?

Is there toner dropping down into the paper tray? Since you have already tried all the usual solutions that might be an area to check, especially since it is only on the first page.
