[CQ] Sharp MX 2700-N Ghosted image in black

I am running an 11x17 color job on 80# cover stock through the bypass tray. It is set to Heavy paper. I've run this same job on same paper before without issues. I have also tried various weights and textures of other paper.

I am getting a ghosted image of the same image in the black.

I've cleaned all the drums using the supplied cleaning wand. I've pulled out and visually checked the black drum and the main transfer belt - nothing unusual. The fuser roller - it's clean. Changed waste toner collector.

    What am I forgetting?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

OEM toner? Even if your company supplies toner, you should check. I had the exact same issue and turns out client got conned into some fake toner and decided to use it rather than go to waste.

Thank you, but no, the toner is the same that has been running for some time. Not a new cartridge or refill/

I would check the fuser pressure levers. I use to see them left up alot and it could cause ghosting on pages.

Have you checked the 2nd transfer roller?

I don't understand this. I saved the file as a bitmap image (.tif) instead of a vector image (.eps or .pdf) and the image cleared up. Thoughts???

have you swapped your drum units around to isolate the problem? try swapping your cyan with your black to see if the ghosting moves. I've seen drum blades cause this issue towards end of life on heavier stocks. Otherwise I would probably look into fuser issues. I've always had to adjust the fuser temp up about 5 points on these models to do heavy paper usually. Also check that your fuser rollers still have the fuser film on them hasnt worn off. Once it does the rubber doesn't transfer very well and they need replaced.

If it cleared up by changing the file type its possible you could have been using the wrong print driver. Otherwise you could try sim 43-1 and turn up the temp for heavy paper.
