    MX-M450N Scan Error CE-03

    Hi Guys,
I'm getting a CE-03 ("Consult your administrator or system administrator.") error when trying to scan. When I look at the web page for "admin settings" I get an error [936] "Scanning feature not enabled." The copier is showing the scan kit is installed. This also happens when I look at the "inbound routing settings. [936]

I tried resetting the NIC. I also did an sp67-16 NiC check. It came back OK.

Don't know if it would make a difference, but this machine has a security kit in it.

    Any ideas?

    THANKS,
    Buddy

Shouldn't make a difference with security kit or not. How did you verify that you had scan installed? Checking sim 22-10 is the best way. If you have a fax unit installed going to image send will work without scan being enabled (if by chance you were checking it that way).

    Good luck.

I would replace the MFP PWB, and you may need to put the product key back in.

        Thanks for the responses guys.

I got it working. Installed Sharpdesk. Still get the CE-03 code after a scan, but they're ok with it.

I should have mentioned that their IT guy has them on a wireless router. Don't know if that makes a difference.

        Thanks again!

That series had a lot of problems with firewalls and bad firmware causing boot loops. There was a simulation (26-10) that when enabled would permit something like 500 scans without having the scan kit. The scan kit would show as active in the 22-10 display but it would only be the trial version. You might have something similar here.
