    Color Calibration

    Hey all,

I used to have a color calibration cheat sheet for most color models. Most likely I tossed it out inadvertently. This sheet listed all the calibration sims in order for the different groups of models. Can anyone help me locate another?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Color Calibration

There's quite a bit of work involved. Wide variety of halftones, gamma, procon setting adjustments.

I think unless it's absolutely necessary, all I do is 5 things.

    Clean image density sensor.
Clean charger, with the cleaning wand.
Laser glass window with the cleaning wand.
    50-22.
And 46-74. (If mfp doesn't have this sim, then sim 46-24 would suffice)

    Takes 5 minutes tops.

You're right there are quite a number of steps. I should have been more clear to say the calibration sheet listed steps after a PM.

Here is an older calibration instructions (2014): Color Calibration.pdf

I don't thing it will really do you any good, but I took a 600dpi scan of the SIT Chart. I don't think you can calibrate anything with it, and it was a little abused, but see attached:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Because of the expense, and the chart is only good for a limited time, I ran the default sim when setting up new machines, or after a full cleaning/PM.

              So it's expired? It's only 18 years old. =^..^=

I love how people claim to be techs on here but don't know how to calibrate a machine. If you are changing dv or drum then first comes 25-2 bwith toner out. After stir is done leave sims and when machine comes on it will tell you to put in toner. Let machine do its thing because it will go through auto calibrate. Go back into sims and then do
                  44-2, back, back
50-22, syncing your drums, leave sims
                  go back in sims
                  44-27 erasing previous calibration, back
                  44-6, when finished hit back
                  44-26, when finished leave sims
Now make sure that you have at least 98 bright paper
46-74, machine will walk you through both copy and print side
once finished with both hit ok where execute was.
                  You are calibrated.

I wish everyone did this, i just tend to use the customers paper. New machines have 61-11 to compensate for the laser.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

Using the customers paper you wont get a true calibration and from that point on the machine would just not be quite right. The colors will be off because regular paper it soaks in too much and I have even had machines that would not calibrate with regular paper even putting 5 or 6 sheets behind it. Even with the 61-11 you should still use 98 bright, your dealership should provide that for you. Now black & white machines you can use plain paper all you want.
