    [Electrical] sharp mx-m565n water mark

I got the water mark to down load. I go to 49 then to water mark. touch display but for some reason it wont black out to start down load. Do I need to hit the dip switch on main board. I did extract the file. any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

Does the touch panel show the file on your USB drive?

All Sharp files from a USB must be no deeper then 1 level. If the file is in a folder INSIDE another folder, it will not see it.
In this scenario, it will usually display two dots.

Also, Sharp is notorious for hiding a .zip file inside of a .zip file download; you will need to double extract.

Also make sure the USB drive you're using for firmware updates is formatted as FAT32. The Sharp cannot see NTFS formatting.

Page 9-6 in the service manual details step by step instructions for the installation of the watermark firmware.

I just did a HDD wipe on a 6240 Friday.
When I downloaded the watermark, it was zipped. I extracted it, and THE EXTRACTED FILE WAS ZIPPED. I had to unzip a second time, move to jump drive, then SIM 49 worked fine.
I downloaded the model you are referring to and yes, it is double compressed. See below:
