    View control panel in desktop

    Simple question.

Does Sharp have a way to view the control panel and display from the desktop?

It does. There is a setting in the Web administration to turn it on, and then you can use VNC viewer on your pc to view and take control. I will see if I can pull up where it is exactly.

Which sharp are yoi trying to do this on?

Remote operations: REMOTE OPERATION OF THE MACHINE | MX-2640N/MX-3140N/MX-3640N USER'S MANUAL (2640 range is just an example, most models support this).

There are several different sections to enable, depending on what type of security is needed for remote access.

You can set the machine to only accept incoming remote connections with a physical button press on the machine, accept all connections from an IP address, or by anyone who has a password.

I usually run the IP of the machine through a browser. But I might be missing something in this thread so don't mind me if I sound dumb.

IP in browser will only give you the web interface.

If you log in to web interface and go to System Settings >> Operation Settings.....scroll to bottom of main window and you will see a section called "Remote Operation". There are three choices, I generally use the middle one. Select "allow", then type in IP address of the PC you will be accessing copier from, then select "Show password in PC only"

the software that I find works the best is TigerVNC viewer.

start the viewer....type in IP address of copier, then password, default is admin

You will then see a window with the copier operation panel at your PC

Is very useful in remote support situations.

TightVNC works very well for me and have been using it on multiple generations of Sharps for years.
