Sharp AR-205 line on first print but not after that after a minute of non-use

Yes, I know this is an old machine! But my customer likes the large glass.

Prints a line about 1 1/2 inches from right edge all the way down the page.

Have cleaned drum contacts, swapped out the drum, fuser, transfer corona side unit but still the same line.
Disappears after the first page but comes back if the machine site idle for a minute.

    Thinking ground or board issue.

    Anyone have an idea?

Customer called back and said not every page has the same line. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a damaged mylar rec blade in the dev unit.

Post a sample of the print/copy to the forum.

Panther and Pegasus series machines had an unpleasant way of flipping the drum wiper blade in the first 1000 images after installation, regardless of how well the blade was primed. My suggestion is to check to see if the drum blade is flipped. If yes, you'll need a drum and blade.

Have you checked obvious things like dirty optics or dirty slit glass? =^..^=

Drum cleaning blade will do this every time. As the blade ages it starts to yellow and loses flexibility so you will get random vertical lines always in the same place on the paper. We have just changed the blade and have had no issues with this afterwards.

              Good luck.

if it happens when making copies it could be dust on the mirrors...could also be the LSU...

                  Dirty charge corona grid?

                  Dirty hot roller cleaning felt.

From memory,I believe there was a fault with the toner going hard in these models.
Vacuum out half the toner cartridge or replace new, if this is the case.

Post a sample of the fault to the forum.

Take the grid off and polish with wire wool (gently!!!) and also polish the end of the sawtooth with a alcohol soaked cloth. It will either be debris on the sawtooth tips or a corroded grid on the sawtooth side. Also polish the housing inside as this helps reflect the charge more uniformly towards the grid if it is clean
