    Ahh, classic case of overtone.

No problem. Simply put brand new developer, and do a sim 25-2, and your good to go. [emoji1308]

I recommended to use a new toner cartridge when you go do the developer PM.

    Good luck!

**note** Ive had to replace the dv unit a couple of times. And, sometimes the print has a shady gray backround. It might be best to do a full black pm together with blade, drum and charger. **

I had one of these that did this and it was a bad front cover switch.

      Weird Huh?

Are you using OEM toner? Most of my U2-40's were from aftermarket toners or bad power source. If it is OEM and AC power is good, how old is your developer and/or is it past pm? If yes or no, try installing new developer if problem persists, clean the toner sensor in the dev. unit before installing new developer, leave toner in and open side door before entering sim, once in 25-2 close door and start until finished. Worst case you may have to try new dev. unit, if all else fails.

I'll be honest, I do not think a new toner will work. It really DOES sound like there is overtone in the DV unit (to me anyways).

I think that you are going to have to replace the Developer at minimum. Good luck though.

I have had u2-40 and f2-02 erors and changing cartridge or chip usually did it on this model type. There are other Sharp MX mosels that would require deveper change on the f2 error. FrANK
