    [Dead] Sharp AR-M620u Dark Screen

I have a Sharp with a darkened screen when booted up. I can barely see the sharp logo for the loading screen and it stays stuck on that permanently. I hear the machine doing some warm-up function but not the full warm-up cycle. Any ideas?

Start with an emergency firmware update. Make sure you use the right firmware if it has DSK.

Also, Do you hear the fans turn on, and does the fuser get hot?

I believe the only fan that turns on is the HDD fan, no fuser warm-up or other fans.

You could try a HDD swap, as well. If memory serves me correctly, as it's been several years ago... I believe I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the MFP board; but, I would start with the simple and least expensive things, first.

If I disconnect the MFP board, would the machine be able to boot up for testing purposes?

          Thanks

No, it is an integral board.

It was the NIC board, removed it and the copier boots normally.

              Thanks everyone.
