What else is on same circuit? Any other high draw items?
Nothing else on our circuit here In the shop on the machine we have the finisher currently attached to, and that's what I keep coming back to , that the fuser is putting enough curl in the paper by the time it gets to the 5th sheet and am wondering how to slow the machine down when running ledger paper. If I set it to heavy paper the saddle stitch wont even start it. These are the random thoughts I have.

Typically the jam code displayed in the history is the sensor that "saw" the jam occur. At point of misfeed detect, machine stops. This "STOP" is not instant, so some motors continue to run. This is done to exit what paper it can from the paper path....in other words at time of jam machine tries to process and exit any pages that are ahead of the jam.

It sounds to me like you have a timing issue......for example you mentioned POD1_N, APPD1_S, POD2_S, APPD2_N jams.

POD1_N--- paper out detect _ Not reached in time. In this case paper didn't get out of fuser in time...PAPER TOO SLOW
POD2_S-- paper out detect_Still remains. In this case paper is getting in and out of fuser in time and lead edge is hitting POD2 in time but is not getting out in time.

      Your APPD jams ditto above.

The crashing in the finisher you're seeing is the result of the machine trying to exit everything ahead of the jam. I would say that once the jam occurs all bets are off with regard to timing, especially while doing a saddle stitch pamphlet job.

You said this finisher runs on another machine, correct?

Print a 23-2 and 23-80, one of them (not sure which) will show you actual timing numbers pertaining to various sensors.

I would clean the hell out of all the vert xport roller, clean reg sensor and roller, and put an extra wrap on the POD1 and POD2 sensor actuator springs..

This finisher has no issues when running on a MX4141 just the mx565 and the mx5141

Double check firmware.....you say in original post......

"We have brought it into the shop and attached it to a Sharp MX4141 and it works fine. When we attach it to a Sharp MX5151 the problem continues. It seems to have something to do with the speed of the copier? We have torn the finisher down and cant find any issues with the paper path and are open to any ideas. Firmware is up to date."

MX4141 works and requires firmware vrg2_up_saddle_01010300.sfu ver 01.08.02.0a

You also mention a MX5151, not sure if you meant MX5141 or MX5111

MX5141 requires same firmware as MX4141
        MX5111 requires firmware vrg_up_4kfin2_01080200.sfu ver 01.08.02.0a

So even though you show version 01.08.02.0a doesn't mean you have the correct firmware.

        You need oriLo_up_4kfin2_01080200.sfu

The finisher running fine on the MX4141 and 5141 is a clear indication the problem does not exist in the finisher.

You have a machine paper transport timing problem or a firmware mismatch.

I would do firmware first specifically this file.....
              fn18.JPG

I can't explain why runs on 4141 and not 5141

If you think it is paper curl related look here.....look for post by mojorolla with curl adj attachment
