Like the title says when the network cable is plugged in the machine will endless keep rebooting. If I unplug the network cable it will boot up. I was thinking replacing the PCU PWB but that is just a guess. I am hoping maybe someone else has seen this problem before. The only things I have done so far is reseat board connections. Thanks for any suggestions.

new Network Patch cable
put a power monitor on AC line
put a network surge on the unit .. plug in net cable .. reboot
do they have an IT dept?
have them monitor the issues on that IP addy?
could it be to duplicate IP problem?
IMHO
other than possible bad NIC.. the machine functions properly.. RIGHT?
I always look at other possible causes before jumping to $$$$$ parts! ( your customer/manager will be happier also!Comment

my bad... I ASSumed that "Printing 101" class had been covered. Yes this should be checked.. but the IT Dept (hopefully) would notice that.Comment

Check for "Power over Ethernet". This does all sorts of bad things to copiers.Comment

IT must be really good in NC. Here in Mich. customers IT are usually dumber than a box of F***ing rocks!Comment

Re: MX-C300w keeps rebooting when network cable is plugged in
Thanks for the suggestions. I was going to do the firmware but it would not stay up long enough before it would reboot again. When I went back and was just checking things it started working. I didnt change or do anything yet so nothing was different. I should have done the firmware then, but at that point didnt think about it. For now its good. If they have more problems you guys have given me ideas. Cust is a small towing company so no IT. I will admit I am old school hands on mechanical and IT is a weak spot beyond the basics.Comment

This made me chuckle a bit. Yes, the IT Dept "should" be able to find a bad print job, but in my experience, most of the IT guys I deal with aren't too bright. Haha!Comment

Re: MX-C300w keeps rebooting when network cable is plugged in
Hi there, I had a similar problem with one of these machines where it wouldnt reboot but it would just lock up, no buttons worked on the ops panel or anything once the network cable was plugged in. In the end we changed the IP address to something different and it worked fine, we then put it back to the original IP and it locked up again - Weird. So we simply changed the IP address and reset the pc's to print to the new address and it has been working fine ever since.Comment

Re: MX-C300w keeps rebooting when network cable is plugged in
Had this on a KM device, went round and checked all print queues until i found one with stuck jobs, cleared the queue and it was fine, discovered that KM print drivers hadn't been installed on her PC, so every time she printed a certain PDF document, the copier would reboot, got her to send job to her colleague with correct KM drivers, and it printed, installed correct drivers and have had no more problems....Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...Comment

Re: MX-C300w keeps rebooting when network cable is plugged in
Things that can cause this issue.
NIC speed
Print jobs
POE
IP conflicts
Bad Network cable
Bad Network port on customers switch
Printing via outdated driver or incorrect driver
Always have services you don't need on the copier disabled (pop3, DDNS etc) and always make sure you have the latest firm installed.Comment
