    sharp ar-163

    Hy

    Y have a problem whith one sharp ar-163, that the papers jam in fuser area.
    Y already revise that, and the problem is there yet.
    The paper stops, just beguin pass into the fuser rollers, .
    Y apreciate some help.
    (y look the fuser rollers and are goods)

    Very common on these models for the tab on the upper heat roller gear to break off. The gear will just spin on the roller without turning it.

      thanks for your help, but the gear off the upper fuser roller it' s ok, and paper stops sometimes, and sometimes works ok, it's a intermitent problem.

        I'd start with the sensor at the resist (registration roller). Remove the supplies and turn the machine over on it's back. The sensor is located above the cassette. Usually there is a mylar over the top of it. Sometimes cleaning will work if the environment is dirty. Otherwise replace it.
        There are only 3 paper path senors on that machine. That one is the first, then the one over the fusing unit, last is the exit sensor.
        You could also run it in aging mode with the sensors disabled.

          Also check the gear on the drive unit that drives the upper roller gear. I have had those wear out. The sensor arm on the fuser may also not be moving correctly. The only other thing that comes to mind is the heat from the fuser can affect the exit sensor that is on the fuser unit.

            Hi Dingo,please check fusser sensor actuator and the gate too,actuator spring could be loosen or it is not in good condition-not making enought pressure.

              If the fuser entrance guide has a nick or is gunky it maybe catching the paper sometimes. Used to happen on the older sharps

                  y clean all of the sensors whit air??
