Customer calls about light copies and has samples. When I get there and print out 64-5 my copies are dark. I do 44-6 and 44-26 and they look good. Both prints and copies do this. Supplies are about halfway to their life. Has anyone experienced this? Thank Ron

Re: MX-M364
I just had a call today on one with light copies, but the internal prints were good (better when I cleaned the LSU slit). All I had to do was clean the dust off the optics, blow out the charge unit and clean the LSU slit with a q-tip. They are in a small town quite near a grain storage elevator and with all the harvests going on now it had built up a lot of dust inside the machine. -

Re: MX-M364
Check on the print driver itself that the customer is sending the print job from. There is a toner save checkbox on the driver that customers like to click.
I've also had this problem with older software that is not getting updatedComment

Re: MX-M364
If you would have read my post more clearly it states light copies and prints but when I get there they are very dark. So I don't think toner save is the issue. Copies are very light or very dark.Comment

Re: MX-M364
You haven't mentioned if you have performed the 46-74 calibration yet. I would start there AFTER doing the 44-27, 44-2, 44-6, 44-26. Are they using genuine Sharp toner? On this series, I've seen IQ issues with generic toner, such as Katun.Comment

Re: MX-M364
Clean the drum density sensor (under the right door transfer roller) and mirror before run the calibration

Re: MX-M364
Yes they are using OEM supplies that we supply. Have cleaned the sensor below the Transfer roller but have not cleaned the LSU lens filter. Will try that when I go back up. ThanksComment
