    [CQ] mx4111n light black copies

Will print then gets light. weak fill, open lid and run sky shots machine replenishes and copies with good fill. will run machine for awhile then same thing happens. Customer just added a new OEM toner. I was going to do a developer change, calibrate and new toner. I also swapped drum out from another color. any other suggestions. thanks

Had this happen with a 5111 and it was the developer material. Not a lot of copies on it either.

    Good luck.

Have had this frequently. Put a new DV unit and developer in. Also I have had to put
a new process unit and drum and maintenance kit at same time. And a new waste container
at the same time. Frequent problem with this series.
I'd at least put new dv unit, Developer, and Drum with charge kit if this is the first time and low volume.

these machines are known for light black copies. common causes are.....not calibrating with a jig, ae mode not set to mode 1 in 46-19. dirty or bad density sensor or a bad black dv unit. also make sure and check that someone did not change the default density settings for copy/print from defaults. this will cause the calibration to not work when done and cause odd issues with copy quality.
