    Sharp AR 275 LSU Replacement

I have a new customer who has a Sharp AR 275. He purchased this unit after his lease was up.

It had not been working well and was told that he needed a new imaging unit.

I believe he may need a new LSU, Sharp OEM part number DUNTK0185RS50.

I looked at the machine and it appears that the LSU (drum) is an integrated unit with a drum / wiper blade and means to transport waste toner. It looks like the entire unit slides out and is easily replaced.

Is this true? If so, are there service resets to be performed after installing a new drum? If so, how do you perform these resets?

If the unit does not slide out, what is involved in replacing the LSU?

    AR 275 LSU

The drum unit is not part of the LSU, it comes out through the front, after you remove the toner cart, and DV unit.
The LSU comes out through the top, you have to remove the center tray, I dont recall if the opp panel has to come off or not, but its a lot easier then say changing one on a old AR 205.

LSU= Louisiana State University, or as in Sharps it means Laser Unit. The drum is rebuildable as long as the drum frame AR-270DU is good. Drum AR-270DR, Wiper Blade AR-270CB, and Charge Corotron AR-270MC. Drum count reset sim: 24-7.

Unless the LSU is throwing an error code, or making an unbearable high pitched squeel, or making crazy copies are you sure you need to replace it?

The information above is correct. the only thing to watch with a laser replacement (if you actually need it) is that it is very easy to bust off the alignment tit at the right rear of the laser, making it more difficult to align the new one.

Just be careful not to tip the laser at too radical an angle before all attachment points are loose/free. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Thanks

This has been my first foray into this domain and I appreciate the help you all have provided.

You are right, the symptoms are associated with the LSU, not the drum.
