    Sharp ARR- M450 Scanning issues

I have a client that has two Sharp AR-M450 devices that can not scan. The issue may be DNS related but I have no clue.
The scan jobs just seem to time out, we have tried every combination of configuration and all settings for DNS, WINS or LDAP are correct when entered.
I can get the device to sned out 1 test status email, but then none after that?
I suspect DNS or AD because there was minor change made just prior to the devices failing, but I have since confirmed all DNS entries are correct on the server and in the config settings????

Do you get an error message? Is the network scanner tool on?

The only way I have been able to resolve a similar problem is to go into the Network Scanner Tool and delete the scanner and re-acquire it. I did not have to change the customer profiles, just the scanner! Don't know why this was but it worked for me when nothing else I did would work. Hope this was helpful.

      Good luck.

This sounds like a Network Issue. If you can Scan a test then you should able to continually send. Are you sure your Hardware is set up correctly with the right amount of memory? I think you said you had two units with the same issue. It's hard to believe you have two bad systems.

Have you made sure that your connections are good? Again, it might be the Network, or it could be cabling. I ran into a problem where I had made up a R-J45 cabling line for a client, and thought it was good - when in fact, it was not.

Usually when setting up SharpDesk, this goes extremely well. My guess is that you need to look at Network and Cabling.

If you have access to a Laptop with SharpDesk on it that might be an idea. Licensing good?

Everyone has made mention of Sharpdesk, but the original poster only commented about a test email. We need to know what you're trying to set up. Also if you can use Wireshark to do a packet capture, you'll see exactly what is going on over the network. There are very few issues when using Sharpdesk, so I'd suspect you're trying to set up an SMTP connection.
          Hope that helps !
