    MX-4141N F2-74

I have a Sharp MX4141N giving an F2-74 error after customer installed a new (OEM) toner cart. Please read the following before giving me a suggestion of what I have already tried.
Machine was manufactured in May 2014 so it already has the updated High voltage board 1, 2TC PWB's and high voltage MC PWB. Machine only has about 160K on black and 69k on color all maintenance is up to date with OEM supplies. Wall AC plugged into 20amp outlet and tested good.

    1) Installed 5 different OEM Black toners,( turned gears and shook toner)- still f2-74
    2) Replaced PTC unit
    3) re-flashed firmware
    4) cleaned out black toner transport pipe
    5) Installed new black developing unit
    6) ran a 25-1 and a low # for TCS K: 42
    7) checked to see if toner sensor in the back of the copier where the toner cart. chip slides into is bent in any way- does not appear to be
    8) inspected boards in the back of the machine to make sure all connectors were connected and boards seated properly

I'm picking up the copier and bringing it back to the shop to work on it. Any other suggestions?

    Cause
    Toner cartridge (CRUM) trouble.
    PCU PWB trouble.
Connector and harness trouble between PCU PWB
    and toner cartridge

    Check & Remedy
    Replace the toner cartridge.
    Replace the PCU PWB.
Check the connector and the harness between the
PCU PWB and the toner cartridge.

Well, I replaced the CRUM harness, the original one turned out updated style. Most of the updates as far as boards, etc. were mostly all finished by Sharp in Late of 2013, this box was manufactured in 2015.
I noticed when I run 25-01, that the numbers are low on black, 43 instead of 128, I also noticed when I looked at the tops of the toner transport pipes, the black one has a cloud of toner coming out of it, almost like it is turning backwards. I have ordered the PCU PWB and will keep you posted on the the results.

Have you changed the black drum unit? or even the black charge corona?

Yes, that was the first thing I did back when it started giving me the code, along with turning off the ptc unit with soft switch 8, but still got the error code.

#6 of your list is causing the error. With a reading of 43, you have a shit ton of toner in the DV unit. You will continue to get this error until the value exceed 73. These units have an issue with the toner feed tubes becoming backed up. When they finally clear, they flood the DV unit with toner. Be sure to remove and clean these.

You can run 75-150 sky shots to bleed out the excess toner OR replace the DV material and start over.

I appreciate the info, mojorolla, I will remove the tube and clean it out, again. Possibly order a new one. I remember, back on the Pastels and the 35/4501 series, I believe the toner augers would start to turn backwards and the PCU was the fix.

Thank you for all the help and suggestions. I turned out to be the PCU PWB, installed it and all is good.
