    MX 4501

I got one with about 175,000 copies more or less. And, that darn little toner pipe tapper is going to tap my brains out. The pipe is not clogged with toner. I know it is suppose to tap, but when the machine was new I never heard it tap.
Any body find a solution yet. I am about to put the standard pipe in so my customer doesn't tap me out.

I have not witnessed it but have you tried tech bulletins MFP-TB-142 and MFP-TB-149.

TB 142 shows the little tapper that is driveing my customer nuts.

Tb 149 shows a change in toner pipe that would make noise for the start not after 175,000 copies. But I am going to check it to make sure.

There clearly must be something wrong for this to start happening now.

      Anybody else have any ideas.

I'm not exactly near the machine, so I cant hear the noise you speak of, but I wouldnt be so sure its the toner pipe making the noises.
Any C-Jupiter machine that has not had the modified spacers put onto the Upper & Lower heat rollers will make a very loud clicking noise from the fuser unit when it is warmed up. The page count you mentioned is about right when the issue starts to happen .....(usually just after 150K web replacement). It would sound very similar to the little hammer hitting the pipe.
When the machine is 'ready to scan for copy', run sim 6-1, execute FUM (fuser motor). If you hear the same clicking noise, the problem is your fuser unit, not the toner pipes. This simulation will only activate the fuser motor, eliminating any other problems.
We have an extremely large fleet of MX machines. I know exactly which toner pipe you are talking about and its little 'tapper' on the pipe to help prevent blockages. This 'tapper' doesnt make enough noise for anyone to even know its there.
Please check other posts here relating to noisy MX machines.

I will admitt I could be wrong about what is making the noise. And I did just change the web roller not long ago. Thanks for reading my post. It is always great to have a second opinion on a problem. I will run out and check it today. Thanks again.

Yeah, it's more than likely the fuser bearings clicking.

Release the pressure levers and let it run, if the noise goes away, there ya go.

            Replace the MX-450HK kit
