arm-620 clipping trailing edge of copies

have a 620 clipping (blanking) the trailing edge of copies at variable lengths , problem is very intermittant , never observed by tech , 100's of copies can be made , no print available , off glass , feeder any paper source , tech in feild pulling his hair out, trying to help him , found article on sharpnet about possibly reg sensor (ppd) or the sensors in the tray 2 mini transport tray above tray 1 , anyone seen this weird issue?
clipping is clean line , no fading to blank

yes, you are spot on about the problem.

If your machine was produced before August 2004, replace interface PG guide.... part # PGIDM2038FCZ1 for better performance of MPRD2 sensor.

Seen it before... probably will again. This part fixed my problems last time.

I don't know if this will be any help, but this is the only reference I could find:

Staples off the edge of the paper. Also incorrect trail edge blanking. Customer has set tray #1 to A4 size paper. Set tray #1 to letter size paper.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
