sharp al-1551 defaults print jobs to tray 1

When customer wants sends print job from computer the AL-1551 is only printing from upper cassette. It is defaulting print jobs to top cassette.
I told customer to set trays from control panel so that tray 1 has 11" and tray 2 has 14".
    Any information is appreciated. Frank

Under printers and faxes. In the printer configuration you may have to input that it has 2 trays.

I know the driver on this machine includes multiple models in a series. I assumed that when customer downloaded driver the al-1551 would be recognized and automatically set-up as a 2 tray machine because 2 trays is standard on this model. I'll mention the suggestion you mede to customer. Thank you Frank

Frank, I don't know of any that will automatically pick up options. you always have to go to the Config tab & either update automatically or manually from there. That is always the problem when IT depts set up their own printers, they're never configured properly. All the newer Sharp drivers it tells the installer at the end of the installation to go to the Config tab & properly configure the machine.
As my boss always said "they can make them fool proof, but not DAMN fool proof."
        Hope that helps !
