    MX5070V with LC17N

    Hello,

I have two customers that have a MX5070V with a LC17N. They both experience problems when printing from the LC17N. The strange thing is that the problem is not constant. It happen like 2, 3 sometimes 5, 6 times a day.

    One gets the error LPFD_SL

On both the LCC i allready changed the rollers and cleaned the sensors. They use good quality paper.

    Does anyone experience these problems?

Also i installed the latest firmware.

    What jams do you get?

    Clutches maybe?

    sim 22-6 would be handy...

Agree with the clutches and have replaced a few on this LCF over the years

Have you checked your height adjustment on the LCC? Was the mylar guide installed properly on the engine where the paper enters? If all of this is correct I would try the clutch or the sensor.

            Hi

Have you controlled the Height adjustment ??

            2) Check to insure that the height adjustment check rib of the largecapacity tray unit and the axis line of the mounting plate uppermounted to the main unit are in the same line.

3 ) If the height adjustment is not required, insert the large capacitytray unit further more.If the height adjustment is required, perform the adjustment procedure from 4).

4 ) Loosen the adjustment screw on the F side.NOTE: Use the adjustment screw on the front side for the adjustment. Do not touch the screw on the rear side.

              Re: MX5070V with LC17N

In my experience, jam code LPFD_SL from the MXLC17's has always been caused by an incorrectly fitted or completely missing mylar sheet on the engine paper entry guide.
The mylar sheet is included with the MXLC17 when new. It gets fitted to the engine in a very specific way. If it is installed wrong (eg, facing outwards) or not installed at all, the lead-edge strikes the vertical paper guides of the engine and causes a burr or deep cut in the plastic. The lead-edge then catches on this burr/deep cut and jams.

It's absolutely critical on these devices that the mylar sheet is fitted correctly, as shown in the installation guide.
