Service and parts manual for MX-4071

Is there somewhere I can view or download theses two manuals? I am trying to look up a part on the fuser unit that's on the bottom. It looks like there should be a star wheel or other guide. See pics

Thanks. It looks like there should be a star wheel or something.

Any reason why you need to check the fuser?

Are you getting fuser entrance jams?

If you are make sure the silver entrance guide is as close to, or just slightly below, the centre; and the plastic mylars attached to it are not bent.

It's jamming like an accordian coming out of the rollers at separator guide. I have rebuilt this unit twice so I think I should replace the whole assembly to be sure.

Ensure all of the gears and bearings are okay in the fuser, as well as the gears in the fusing drive unit on the back of the machine. There is a bulletin related to that issue, a gear's teeth breaking off causing it not to drive correctly.

Make sure you have enough area on the leading edge to allow proper seperation. I've had this a number of times and by allowing a little more space on the leading edge resolved it.

I did make some adjustments but was confused on which ones to do. I am not that familiar with sharp service modes. It was still jamming when there was plenty of non image area around the prints. I do have a question about the pressure springs and arms. When the fuser is out of the machine, how much space should there be between the rollers? One side of mine is much greater than the other.

I use the smaller separate plate from the MX-407FU1. you also need the separate plate holders that go with it.

                    Hi Campy,

If you find paper jammed inside of fuser (accordian like) you should replace Separation plate. Make sure not to bend the new one because is a disaster. Also dont try to fix de one from the fuser because is a lost cause!

This is what you need in order to fix the problem:
CPLTM9201DS51 - Upper separate plate (grey marked thing)

                    Best regards, Alex
