    Sharp MX6071's in SCHOOLS

    Hi guys,

we have many MX6071'S out in the field that are in schools, now we seem to be having loads of issues with users printing high quality prints through the machines on normal standard 80gsm paper which is causing jamming issues, we have advised time and time again to set high quality prints through the bypass tray which is set to heavy paper stock and will work fine but teachers tend to forget about this setting and the machines once again jams up,

i presume many users on here have experienced this type of issue and we are wondering what your work around's are?

Morning, we’ve had a similar issue. Try adjusting the fuse entry gate to be more “open” also a fuser exit plate helped a lot!

It would still be a dedicated drawer, but I think you can set the drawers to heavy paper also. Maybe set the top drawer for their prints?

we are thinking of defaulting everyone to heavy paper stock and set tray 1 as that, they if they need to copy or do booklets they can select the other trays

Start charging every trip for those incidents. That's how we do it

Can you clarify what you mean by jamming. We have many in schools, but there is one in particular that goes through fusers like crazy. Usually up under the seperator blade, I thought it was not enough leading edge. But it still does it on occasion.

I would turn on the fusing clean automatic print, would help keep that fuser clean and hopefully prevent build up. Enable the paper setting to 28lb. Could also adjust paper type in 43-1 and see if anything helps.
