    Simulations to do after prforming maintenace

    Hey all,

    I'm relatively new to the Sharp copiers but have been a tech for 17 years now with another manufacturer.

    I want to get some advise when it come to simulations that should be preformed after maintenance.

    So I know after colour drums are replaced you need to do Sim 50-22 for skew adjustment, then 46-74 for calibration along with resetting all counters in Sim 24 but is there any other Sims I should be preforming after maintenance? To be honest I'm not used to doing all these as the previous manufacturer I used to work for, all calibration was automated, you just needed to tell the device what units you were replacing, switch the device off and when turning it back on, the device would do all calibration on boot up and off you went.

    There is a lot of manual intervention with the Sharp devices so I would like some advise on what Sharp techs generally do after replacing drums, developer and primary belts in particular.

    It would probably help to know what model(s) you are referring to. =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Yes, he needs the model # so that he'll know what service manual to look at.

        I believe OP asked in general not about particular Sharp model. Everything about specific model should be in Service manual of any MFP manufacturer that's for sure.

          OK, so going off the comments above, there is no generic simulations you would recommend across the entire Sharp fleet whether the device was colour or black and white? I understand the MXC357's and 507's are Lexmark which are different but say from the BP20C20 to MX2651 to MX6071 to MX7081 you need to use different simulations for each of these models when initialising developer, resetting counters, preforming skew adjustments or colour registration. Doesn't make sense....

          If this is true I didn't realise Sharp was so far behind in the game.....

          I used to work for Ricoh and across the entire fleet from small desktop colour to high volume colour, all you needed to do was tell the device what unit(s) you were replacing, change the value in service mode (simulation) and on boot up the device would automatically initialise the unit you replaced and off you went.

            There are... standard sims for routine maintenance that have not changed much since... the MX-3500, as far as I can remember. Think they came out 2006.
            Routine sims for color is in this order:
            50-22 (Registration)/ 44-2 (Sensor adjustment)/ 44-6 (High Density PC)/ 44-27 (Clear Halftone Density values)/ 44-26 (New Halftone density value)/ 61-13 (Clean LSU values) / 61-11 > Light/ Medium/ Dark (New LSU Values)/ 64-24 (Copy Color Adj)/ 46-74 (OR 24) Copy/Print Calibration/ 50-28 > Original/ ADF/ Engine (Off Center/ Lead and Trail edge adj)

            All this would take... about 10 mins maybe?

            There are new(-ish) ones like the LSU adjustments... also, these are mostly auto, we have both a color and BW chart that we use to see whether or not the copy/print quality is acceptable. Depending on that, there are a variety of manual adjustments available on the service manual.
