    mxc301w - scan to email

    hi guys,

got a pain in the ass MXC301W that will not scan to email,

we have updated firmware so can use TLS 1.2 triple checked the device settings (they currently have a Konica C3350 on site that works fine with the details)

never seen the smtp server address the customer uses - smtp.ionos.co.uk

the settings have just been copied across from their Konica machine

we have followed the attached bulletin with regards to added <> in the sender address and inputting the sender address via image send settings SolBulletin-89-Scanning-to-office365.pdf

any ideas? or can this machine not use the certain smtp server address?

You could have several issues - encryption level set too high or too low in SSL settings, sender name field is empty, sender name field conflicts w/ authentication credentials sender that is set in Scan Settings.. This email server may be looking for a verifiable return email address. If you are getting a CE-00, the server most likely was contacted/addressed by the Sharp, but rejected, and the reason is usually syntax or programmed credentials that don't line up.

so i have set the encryption strength to middle, do you need the sender name? i usually leave that blank, the current error is CE-00 and in the job log its error 80-0000

as i say the other Konica machine works perfectly fine so dont really understand as to why it doesnt work

Yes, the email server may require something in the sernder name field - Microsoft's certainly does.
