    MXC357F touchscreen not working

We have a mxc357f that is having problems with the touch screen.

After testing, it appears that this problem goes away when the printer is rebooted, but this returns after a certain amount of time.

Temporarily they can use the printer provided they restart it from time to time.

The touchscreen has already been replaced, the firmware is at the latest version and the last intervention was to check the cable of the screen.

What could still be the problem here?

We had 3 different MXB427W's with bad screen issues, thankfully we only have 2 of the 357 in the field, and neither one had any issues. I'm of no help, I just want the Sharp-Lexmark (aka Sharp-Mark, aka Skid-Mark machines) series to go away.

Just to be sure, there is specific standalone firmware just for this screen issue. It is not a part of the latest machine firmware.

I dont see any display firmware in the library. Just production from 6/24. Maybe have to call hotline?

We had a similiar problem with a Lexamrk that had the same size panel. Replaced the panel and the problem came back quickly. Swapped out the machine and made it our check printer and just put up with the panel becoming non-responsive. A new firmware eventually fixed the issue and it hasn't done it again.

Unfortunately the Sharpmark firmware is about 1 to 2 versions behind the Lexmark. Newest Sharpmark is 230.217 while Lexmark is 230.329. There was also 230.307 between these.

Panel Flash Firmware v2.1.2.11 - resolves poor response or freezing touchscreen issues
This is from the Australian Sharp firmware section.

Are you sure this panel flash firmware is for a Lexmark made Sharp? That firmware looks like the firmware for the BP panel freeze issue.

This is the head scratcher when using this site sometimes. Fixes are often from other parts of the world with information that other places don't have. I wondered if this special firmware not available in the US. It would be nice if we could see the country the poster is from.

I'm sure a fix has been incorporated into the latest Lexmark firmware available in the US but it hasn't made its way to the Sharpmarks.

This is the one I'm talking about.

We do not have that panel firmware available on US Sharp IDNC. I assume it will be incorporated into the next engine firmware release. We do not have the Customer Support app listed either. Most US dealers who do not deal with Lexamark may not even know about the Customer Support app.

Rather than making a dick of yourself, you should have read my comment correctly....

For the 2nd time, there is touch panel specific firmware for the MXC357F which resolves the issue

As stated, I have installed it many times in the field which resolves the issue for unresponsive touch panels

Maybe you should come and install your special firmware on my machine, because according to Lexmark, the main board has to be replaced...

Well go on and waste a truck load of money on replacing the main board and please let us know how that works for you.....

                            or

Download the firmware I have just provided and get back to me in a week and let me know the result.

                            You can thank me later

                              "downgrade not allowed"

                              Any way to bypass this?
