    Sharp MX-C301W - office365

    Hi guys,

got x2 Sharp MX-C301w's that will not scan to Office365

we have updated special firmware for TLS1.2, tried the reply address with <>, input the reply address via the image send settings, input the required DNS settings. the SMTP details are defiantly correct as they have a Konica at the same site with the same details,

when we try do a connection test it just says 'failed to connect'

on the machine when sending a scan it says ' connection with server lost/ selected server not found'

    driving me nuts!

Maybe try going to Security Settings > SSL settings > adjust the level of encryption

Is 2FA turned on for the account that you are using. If so it has to be turned off and smtpauth turned on.

or leave the 2FA turned on and make an app-password, but still turn on smtpauth

yes 2fa is turned on and we are using an APP password, funnily enough i have just set up another MXC301w in our office with the same details and its worked!

there must be something on their network blocking the machine from seeing the SMTP server

When you're on the network, you can use command prompt to ping smtp.office365.com, and you should get a reply. If you do, you should get an IPv4 address, and can throw that in as a secondary. Otherwise, use a gmail account with 2fa and app password.

What does it mean if you get a request timed out response? When you pick smtp.office365.com

Normally you have to populate Image send settings - condition settings- default reply address set with the same address that you use for authentication settings.
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

If you're trying to ping it and receive a no reply, then it's likely blocked from their network. Try to ping smtp.gmail.com, and you should get a response.

It's odd that the KM works with the same settings though. Maybe they are just blocking your IP, give the machine a different IP and see if that works. I had this happen with an ISP thinking the device was sending spam. Pain to get fixed properly.

just came back from a shitstorm today, Sharp MFP's were printing but not scanning, our solution was: Clients IT department was setting machines by MAC address and setting the IP to DHCP, they must of not been doing something right with IP reservations or something once we set the IP to static it was able to scan again.

Have you set the port to the SSL/TLS port of 587?

sorry for not updating, so it seems the IP addresses of the sharp machines were blocked from sending emails out, got them to unblock and then worked, dont know exactly what they did to unblock it but all working now,

literally did an install the other day and was the same issue with the sharp/konica machines
