    Airprint trouble.

On a 3071 I had set up user authenticationwith device mode so that cust can only use the machine in black and white. They would have to enter a code to use color. I was having trouble getting airprint to work with this setup. Now I turned off usermode and airprint still wont work. I get a message I have not seen before, it says the printer is no longer available. Anyone seen this message before?

I recently had an Airprint issue on a machine that had been in the field for a while and had worked before, ended up having to turn on mDNS, that had somehow been disabled, and it started working again.

Good luck with AirPrint and authentication, super annoying. I would go into the the "other" user in the user list, and try different permissions, once you get it working.

If the above suggestion with mdns doesn't fix it, connect the machine to a mobile hotspot and then try jumping on to see if AirPrint works. If it does, then something on the network is blocking Bonjour. If it doesn't work, then it's the machine. First and foremost, I would update the firmware before troubleshooting anything. ALSO, Apple keeps breaking AirPrint, as well as other facets of printing, sooooo good luck

Thanks for the replies. The problem ended up being with my phone. I tried someone else phone and it all worked. I updated my phone and per googling I rebooted our routers and internet. All seems good now. Thanks again. Its weird because it was working until I tried to setup the color authentication. Thats what made me think it was something with the machine.

If you disable 'Enable IPP Authentication Except for Printer Driver', it should work with authentication enabled.
