    MXM7570 FN21 throwing a F0-03 for sensor fns118

I have a MXM7570 that was throwing a F0-03 randomly but now after working on it, it wont boot without throwing the code. I narrowed it down to FNS118. It is not turning on and off in SIM 3-3. It shows it stuck on. I have swapped the FNS118 sensor and the board in the unit but it made no change. Am i missing something here? Is it wiring? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have not seen that and I dont have that model to test. The book shows the cade as being for paper exit roller lift motor trouble. Did you check the exit roller lift in 3-3? It shows PCU board as being the problem.

I forgot to mention, the code originally led me to replacing the lift motor. No change. When i changed it, it was working in Sim. I have not tried it since finding the sensor issue. I will try that again when i go there next, it is about 1hr 20m drive from our base. Note: If the exit roller is lifted, the unit will boot up but prompt to lower the paper guide. BUT, once you lower it, it attempts to lower but bottoms out cause FNS118 is not turning off, hence the stuttering of the paper guide.

Do you mean the PCU pwb in the main unit? All I see in the finisher parts is a controller board. I'm just being ushered into fixing finishers so I apologize if its a dumb question. Thanks for all your help!!

I think I read it wrong, it says replace finisher control board, the motor and sensor. Sounds like you did that stuff. Wished I could help you out.

I have had to replace the finisher shutter clutch for this error code. On a MX-M754 with the FN-21 finisher. Sorry do not have the part number handy.

            Good luck

I had to replace that one for papers not being stacked correctly, or at all, because it wasn't dropping the finisher exit rollers down consistently. It was just throwing the paper out.

Also, look into this. It's a Canon manual, but I was sent this from our Sharp rep to better work on the FN21/FN22 finishers. https://drive.google.com/file/d/12dy...ew?usp=sharing

Update: I swapped out the shutter clutch today, but no change. The fns118 sensor is still stuck on in sim 3-3. I even removed all panels so i could actuate sensors, but nothing changes the state of 118, Im at a loss.

So, FNS118 controls the proximity switch for the entire output tray. You said you replaced the sensor, therefore you took apart the output tray, and replaced the clicky(pressure) switch sensor that gets activated by that flap underneath the upper output tray? I had that sensor cause an f1-15 code, NOT an F0-03 code... You SURE you have the FNS118 sensor??
