BP-70C31 blue lines on scans to computer

We have a BP-70C31 that is leaving a very fine blue line when scanning to the computer from ADF and glass. When making a copy from the ADF or the glass or a preview of the page these lines are not there. They are only showing up when scanning to the computer. After the scan to the computer, and we print the file from the computer the lines are on the prints. Internal prints or prints from a flash drive are good. I have yet to scan direct to a flash drive to see if the lines would appear there. (I did not have a new clean flash drive with me and being a bank they would not allow me to use one that I had used previously on other machines to check). This is a Refurbished machine with less than 8000 copies. I have cleaned optics and mirrors. The initial call was for L3-00 scanner return trouble and rebooting machine cleared the error. This is strange to me as I would expect lines on my copies too.
I'm not sure what I am missing in my diagnostics and am open to any ideas. They are an hour and a half away so not easy to pop in and problem solve and said that its been going on for awhile and not a big issue.

clean the glass, use a flashlight to check for ink spots,9/10 times its a dirty glass. Lines on copies but not prints = dirty glass.

Are the scans using the same settings as copies. i.e. Auto, Full Color, same dpi etc. As "Nano" said though, glass and mirrors.

I've cleaned glass and mirrors three times, also checked with a flashlight (I love showing customers with a flashlight), I think if it's on the glass or mirrors it should also show up on copies. I have tried scanning in both the mono and color modes, also tried different setting such as auto and text and photo and text. Higher DPI made no difference. This is something I have not run into before.

You could calibrate it with a sit chart, and a white reference chart.. Had a 3071 in the office that did something similar, and calibrating it fixed it. Alternatively, there are settings for adjusting the scan/fax position in Sim 50, if the line is towards the edge, but that doesn't sound like what's going on.

Try reseating the flat cables to the ccd and scanner and see if that does anything.

Ok, I am going to reveal my secret on these Sharp scanner mirrors, and the lenses...

Listen homie, that F1 cleaner bottle is gold. Use gloves, a mask.
I use it on glass, on the platen, mirrors, and for the Lens I spray on the swab or cleaning sheet.

I went to the customer today and they stated they are no longer having the blue lines on their scans. I did some scans, and the lines are no longer there. So, no solution but the customer is happy with our customer service and followup.

I'm dealing with the same exact issue right now. Could not duplicate the problem today, so I'm waiting to see if it returns. I went ahead and reseated both ribbon cables as a precaution, but they didn't feel loose or anything. Guess we'll wait and see if it returns.
