    Sharp MX-4050 Restart Loop

I have this machine just suddenly started doing this. I power on the machine, it begins to boot. Scanner lamp does it's thing, screen stays black. Engine doesn't seem to start any motors. Then the machine restarts itself. This is continuous and it never boots. Wondering if someone else has run into this or has an idea?

Machine is in our shop and not connected to the network. We have replaced the power supply, high voltage supply, and the msata chip. Disconnected HDD also, and the result remains the same.

If you disconnected the HDD, you should get an immediate E7-03, which would lead me to the MFP board or LSU Mother.
Reseat LSU Motherboard, if it has fax, disconnect that as well and see if result changes.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

I have had both a color and an M version do this, both ended up needing MFP pwb and emmc, a co worker called it into DSSD and they hinted at failure of the onboard ram.
Where the heck is my spring hook?

Did the RAM fix it for your co-worker?

onboard, aka surface mount, so even if I could get chips, dont have the the hardware to reflow a BGA chip to the board.
              so mfp replacement.

We replaced the MFP Board. This issue is resolved.

                    Re: Sharp MX-4050 Restart Loop

An EMMC/MSata/SD read failure can cause a reboot loop (Read errors?) , if so try a new MSATA/SD ((no known way to clone EMMC as far as I know, MSATA/SD can be) , (Bought third party and cloned with HHD Guru)), cloned from a new chip or machine. (Not recommended, cloning a chip from a existing, in, use machine may cause odd problems, as the softwitch bank will vary.) If you repl the EMMC/Msata/SD and the machine continues to fail, I am assuming that there is a memory write problem with the system ram on the MFP. I have done many SD card, and MSATA issues in the past, but now that Sharp has gone to EMMC, I have no answer how to clone them as they seem to be DMA, and have no controller to report to any other system we as techs have used in the past. I have had a complete misclone of a SD card to make a MXM565 show its GRUB bootloader before.
