    Sharp MX-C303W password reset

    Hi everyone,

I'm new here. Sorry if I'm not following the right steps before making a post. I'm always happy to do things properly.

I recently picked up a used Sharp MX-C303W and unfortunately the prior owner doesn't know and isn't able to find out the administrator password.

I've followed various advice and steps from the internet and forums like these unfortunately nothing I have tried seems to be working.

I've gone into Sim mode and 24 30 isn't an option. I've located the dip switches and tried to flip them in various configurations to no avail. Flipping the 2nd one brings up a touch screen calibration.

I think there are further steps I can take to try resetting it but I feel I risk bricking the system, as the world of printers is not one I'm too familiar with. I am pretty handy and work with technology however.

I'm not sure there is a simple/possible way to reset the password for this system? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated. I have located the user manual and quick start guide but neither have seems helpful in this endeavor. Not sure if there are other service manuals I cannot locate that would be more insightful?

    Thanks for reading!

You will have to Go to Sharp IDNC Service website and follow the procedure to reset the Admin Password there is no dip switch reset on newer machines any more.

To help prevent any delays when requesting an Admin Reset, be sure to do the following:
    1. Create a case.
    2. Enter Subject as Admin Reset and include your Request Code.
    3. Select Call Type: MFP.
    4. Select Issue Type: General.
    5. Select Sub Issue Type: Admin Reset.
    6. Select Model.
    7. Enter Serial Number.

Note: Request Code is (8 digits) and must be included in Subject of the case.

After Case is submitted with the Request Code, the Product Key to reset the administrator password will be added to the Case. The normal turnaround time is 2 to 3 business days. Once the Product Key is available it will be added to your case, and you should receive an email with the reset code. If you do not receive an email within 3 business days, you can check the status of your case online.

    How to Generate Request Code:
    1. On the MFP, select Home key two times.
    2. Press the lower left corner of the operation screen. A soft keypad will appear on the screen.
    3. Select 4, 6, 3, //.
    4. The Request Code (or Reset Key Issue Code) will be displayed. The Request Code will be 8 digits, all uppercase.

Note: Older series models such as the MX-5141N, MX-M565N, MX-2640N, MX-M356N, MX-C301W, MX-M503N, MX-B402SC, MX-7500N, MX-M754N, MX-M1205 do not provide a Request Code. When attempting to reset an Admin password and you may need to contact the TAC Hotline for assistance

Thanks. I can give it a try later today or tomorrow.

I believe the web portal is blocked off as I haven't been able to access it. What would the process to do it via 56 2 look like? I just put I on a USB as the only file?

        Thanks for the help!
