We are starting to see some of these finishers tell our customers to load staples. When they go to load more staples there are already plenty of staples in them. The stapler will start working then for a while and repeat the add staples message again. Has anyone run into this and had luck with a fix? Tech Support is pointing me towards a voltage problem but I find that hard to believe with 2 separate customers at a 2 hour distance from each other having the same voltage issue.

Is this happening right after they change staples or in the middle? Having issues with this when customer puts in new staples old staples that are left are slightly elevated and staples get fed under the old ones causing this message.
Good luck

I have also seen customers taking out old sheets of staples and adding them to the new pack, which could confuse the finisher.Comment

The first of these to have an issue is at 4200 staples so the first cartridge from new is near end so we replaced it with one from a shop machine that was working properly and with more staples than what theirs had. We did this a second time a couple weeks later and the problem is persisting again. The second machine to have this problem is at 12,455 staples, so they should be at the half-way mark of the 3rd cartridge. These people are telling us that they can take the staple unit out and put it back in and it works for a while before having to reposition the staple unit again to make it work. I have removed the staple motor from the finisher of the first machine and from studying it, I can see there is a small lever that sits in the pathway for the staple unit to glide across then it pops up to detect the staples in the cartridge. There is an opening in the bottom of the staple unit and cartridge that exposes the stapes so the actuator can touch them, so I'm beginning to wonder if there is a problem with that sensor inside these staple motor units.👍 1Comment
