    AR-M550U

My boss has agreed to look after a AR-M550U at one of our biggest customers, and its been left to me to service/repair it.
We are NOT Sharp dealers ( we are Kyocera & Konica Minolta dealers ) and i have no experience with Sharps.
Could any one give me the heads up on this machine, is it a good model, is it old,how do i get in to the service mode, etc etc..... If any one could send me the service book that would be great, just PM me.

    Thanks.

    Overall, great machines.

The weak areas are dry toner buildup in the fuser, especially if it has the early production fuser without the web. They also tend to overtone which contributes to the flecks of toner dropped by the fuser.

My main complaint was that it took Sharp over two years of our complaining before any attempt was made to address the fuser issue. Then three revisions of the fuser until it had a web.

I had two of these side by side (AR-M700Ns) with 5.5M copies each. Do the PMs when they are due, change the developer at 150K, and make sure that you have the modified fuser and you should be fine.

Buy the manual. You'll need it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Fully agree with Blackcat.

Put a AR703 fuser in it and you will be fine.
We had a client who had several of these with around 5Mil each. Hardly any problems, did the mods & firmware when released as standard.
Client was so happy with them, they upgraded to the Hercules MXM1100 at the end of contract.
Have looked after these since new. Great machine & great series. Best thing Sharp did in entering into 'higher end, semi-production' machines.
Just ask if you need any advice during your service calls.
