Sharp AR-M350 turns off by itself, and control panel locks up.

    Hi,
    New customer has a Sharp AR-M350 meter 697,300 , 6.04 pcu,9.03 main, 4.02 boot. Not sure if
this is the latest available, or if this is even available. I read here, on a ar-m355 could be control panel
and possibly the network board, I was told by customer it does both, shuts off, and they would walk up
to the copier & the control panel would be locked up.
    The voltage is 120volts, N to G is less than .8volts. 2 error codes, E7-90 & E7-11(00).
I went into program mode and the shutoff feature is unticked, for energy save mode as well.
Customer told me copier sat for over a year, and has been recommissioned by another company,
and has been having this issue's for the last 2 or so months. I am thinking the dealer they
were working with told them to upgrade. I went on hytec site and seems boards are still
available. They are using windows 10, not sure on browser. I have the service manual but not sure
where to start. I did go to sharp training in Bolingbrook, on the 337 maybe 2004.Dont see many
Sharp around here. ANY help is appreciated. I want to give them a reasonable answer , to the best
of my ability, Practicing Business Owner Working Tech.
    Thank You in advance.
    Have a blessed Day.

Common on Tiger, JupiterI & JupiterII:

If the cable from the scanner to the engine print controller card becomes loose you can get these symptoms. Also you might get blank images when scanning from the DF only. Often the installer connects the cable but doesn't tighten the thumb screws on the connector. Remember this one, Bil?

The E7-90 is and ICU to PCU communication error (scanner PWB to print control unit).
The E7-11 is a shading error (again, shading data is not making it to the PCU).

Be sure that the machine is fully OFF before doing this. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It's an 18 year old copier with well over 500k. My honest opinion... stop wasting your time trying to fix it, especially if it has been sitting for years, and sell them a newer one. It junk and sounds like it is going to be a 697,300 money pit!

        Yeah, no. Flip it quick.

I think printing from the internet and printing some pdf's will lock these up. That was a few years ago and I can't remember exactly what caused it.

Hopefully it is what blackcat says.

Failing that the mother pwb used to go on these quite often.

I believe it was printing from certain emails that would cause that issue.

Re: Sharp AR-M350 turns off by itself, and control panel locks up.

Made it home before major snow, so I took the back off, pulled out nic board reseated boot and memory boards,
reconnect all connectors. Turn on copier, sharp screen does not come to ready state, removed back panel again,
made sure I didn't miss something. I have a bad habit of thinking on removing more is better. Big mistake.

Customer comes by and is watching me as I am waiting the 2nd time for the normal screen to populate, Just
comes up with sharp screen and the stars flowing around, after 1 minute customer touches the start button and
copier comes to ready state. Oh Boy. Egg on face. Now we wait & see.

Client then asked me he mostly uses this copier to scan these days, and prints to a brother unit, and can the
scanning unit can be separated and used independently by itself. I told him unequivocally No sir, with a smile.
Thankyou for your help, and comments. You guys are the best.
