    BP-C545WD

So i was working on a BP-C545WD with the BP-CS12 attached. Tray 1 would feed fine. But Tray 2 would jam every time. It would feed out of the tray and stop at the registration roll, and the paper would be buckled. So I ended up calling Sharp Support for help. One of the things they had me do was run Sim 7-1, I think. It was explained this would run the machine will paper sensors disabled. If the paper fed fine, it was a sensor issue. If it still jammed then it's a mechanical issue.

So when I ran it again, it still jammed, just now the machine didn't know it was jammed. It was recommended to replace the 2 clutches in BP-CS12. It was almost 5pm, so I didn't have time to do much. So I ordered them. I'll see what happens when I get them in. But I'll have to remember the Sim 7-1 trick in the future.

Running the machine in Aging mode is a great troubleshooting tool! Especially nice when you want to temporarily prevent errors to be able to check other things.

I remember being asked by our RSS about jamming issues in the area. I can't rememeber what exactly caused it but I think there was a batch of them that had something wrong with them from the factory. I am thinking it was a defect in the PS unit. Pretty sure it was only when the copier had a second tray.

The PS unit part# has been updated so there was a change at some point.

Isn't Aging Mode one of the first thing we learn during training ?

One of my fellow techs that has been through the training on the BP-C series machines says that didn't teach him that in the class. I've only done the online training for some of the Sharp machines, and I don't remember any mention of it.
