Client has an MX-5071 with account codes on and one of the end users has a Mac Book Pro Ventura 13. We downloaded the PS Mac OS 10.15 -12 print driver (the highest on Sharps website), we installed the driver using the IP method for installation, and have tried each LPD, HP JetDirect or IPP protocols but when the user sends the print job, the driver says the copier is out of toner and will not print the jobs. I did notice that the icon on the bottom of the Mac is giving the no toner indicator as well as "hold for authentication" message. The driver did prompt for account codes and the correct code was entered but no printed page. Do we need to download any outside apps such as Firefox? Any suggestions?

Re: Sharp MX-5071 and Mac Book Pro Ventura 13 printing issue
MacOS13 drivers for CR4.5 are currently under testing and evaluation.
Driver support for OS13 is due at end of January 2023. I know that doesn't help at the moment. -
Re: Sharp MX-5071 and Mac Book Pro Ventura 13 printing issue
Question for you, Prints. Our tech went out to the customers office today to install the driver (13.4 ver), they use account codes to print. He installed the driver using various methods Air Print, LPD, IPP and jet direct socket and also went into the CUPS menu but can not find anywhere on the print driver to add the pin code in order for the print job to print to the copier (hold for authentication icon). Any idea where we can find the menu to add a pin code to the print driver?Comment

Yes, that is the one he used. The clients Mac is using the 13.3ver. But, he can not find a way to add account codes to the driver settings.Comment

Re: Sharp MX-5071 and Mac Book Pro Ventura 13 printing issue
In previous MAC drivers, this is how you would enter codes:
- Click on the Copies and Pages dropdown list and select Print Mode
- Depending on Driver version, this dropdown menu may say the name of the program youโre printing from instead (Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Check the Department Code check box and enter your code
If it has changed on the newer drivers, that's good to knowComment
- Click on the Copies and Pages dropdown list and select Print Mode

Understood, but the tech said the layout is totally different for the Ventura 13.3ver then previous Mac drivers and that is the issue he is running into and could not find a way to enter account codes.Comment

Following. I'm having a TON of issues with Toshiba and Ventura. I have an M1 Air for testing purposes but man, what I've seen out in the field is crazy with people that have Ventura and have to do any complex print jobs on a Toshiba.Comment

Re: Sharp MX-5071 and Mac Book Pro Ventura 13 printing issue
The thing I have noticed with using print codes is that after the initial driver installation if the program used to print for the first time is ( Pages, numbers, etc any apple included programs) the option for user codes( Job handling) will usually not show up, and will not let you configure or make a "preset" for the user with user code. What I do is download acrobat reader and creat the "preset" with all the user code info in it. After that the newly created preset will appear in the default crappy apple programs. I hope I am making myself clear. So basically: install driver (lpr), install acrobat reader, go to job handling, add user code info, create a new preset, call it COPIER PASSWORD or what ever, test using acrobat if this works, test using pages, number or what ever...... Also for the toner levels and that crap I just turn of SNMP at the copier it usually helps.

Re: Sharp MX-5071 and Mac Book Pro Ventura 13 printing issue
Did this ever happen? I have a Sharp AR-M620N and just tried to set it up on my new MacBook. The newest driver was for OS 10.12, but I'm running 13.5.2, and System Settings won't recognize the photocopier at all...Comment

Re: Sharp MX-5071 and Mac Book Pro Ventura 13 printing issue
You could try the MXM620N drivers, but I believe they're only supported to OS10.12 however your Mac might connect to it.Comment
