    MXC357F Losing 1 colour channel completely

    Hey all,

    Just wondering if anyone has had this issue on this particular model.

    I have 2 of these, 1 is missing yellow completely on all printouts and copies, the other is missing cyan on all copies and printouts.

    I have updated firmware on both, swapped imaging units, transfer belts and laser units which didn't change anything.

    The thing is when you print out internal test pages using **36 to get into service mode, the rainbow test page prints out perfectly with all colours showing.

    The only thing left to replace is the main board as there may be a corruption when trying to process the image?? But it doesn't make sense as colour test pages print fine when in service mode.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated...

      Just out of curiosity does the fault occur just during copying, or printing also?

      Is the machine set up to scan? Do color scans show the issue?

      In this way you can distinguish whether it is a scanning issue or image processing issue. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Umm..copy and printing modes you've said.
          I would rule out scanner section then and that leaves as you swapped lasers only main board I think.

              At the moment if you print from a workstation or laptop, it will miss the colour. I have tried both Sharp driver and Lexmark driver with the same result as well.

              If you print from USB connected to the device, it will miss the colour

              If you copy, it will miss also

              I haven't scanned to a folder or email to see the colour is missing from a scan to be honest which I'm happy to give it a crack

                      Did you try calibtating the colours from diagnostic mode?
                      **36 to enter daignostics.

                              I had the same error a few weeks ago. I changed the transfer belt unit and the problem was solved
                              Maybe try it once
