I tried to do a search for this but I don't understand why I can't search "maintenance code TA" and come up with hits . Anyway I have a MX-4071 with that code and it won't reset. I tried the transfer item counters but it still comes up. The drum counters were already reset recently. Should I replace developer even though the copies are good?
Also anyone have the service and parts manuals? I have the installation and handy guide.

The developer on this range of machine should never need to be replaced as it renews with each new toner cartridge has some developer in it, the other parts should be replaced at thier end of life as per the 22-06 service printout of the machine.

I had one that would not reset with a smiley face maint due turned out to be that the firmware was way behind and an FW update got rid of message. .

Is the firmware a tricky operation on Sharp? Where can I get?

It is the "Maintenance counter (Total)". Reset the color and mono maintenance total counters.
