    Re: F1-22 Error Code

We had nothing but issues with the FN27, and when our DSS confirmed that the FN11 is basically the same as the FN27 I almost quit. We haven't had any issues on the BP's yet, but I've probably replaced almost every part in the FN27's at this point. Within the first few months of install, we had to replace the assist units in those finishers because they would get out of alignment. It was right at the beginning of Covid, so we would bring those finishers back to the office, rebuild it, and then swap it back in the field.

The main issue is the screws were never tightened down enough, so the belts would get a little bit of slack, and then skip.

The paddle assembly would also get out of alignment on the front side, and you'd have to replace that whole assembly as well.

Look at my username, there's a reason it is what it is. These, and the FN22 Finishers.

      Re: F1-22 Error Code

An update for the BPFN11 units:

Just had an issue where, running enough paper for the machine to create sets, I was testing with 5 copies; the 3 pages would come out as a set, and then the 2. When the 3 were getting outputted, the 4th page would crash and jam. We found that the upper paddle return assembly was dropping back down prematurely while the set of 3 was getting jogged together and outputted. During that time, the 4th page would come in, and crash into it. The paddle return assembly wasn't supposed to be there. It seemed too purposeful, so swapped it in the field temporarily, and brought it back to the office. Swapped the board, didn't make a difference. Ended up being the return paddle motor assembly, the black cam within it would crackle inside as it moved in the direction that would drive and drop the return paddles unit.

Also found out that ALL of the issues that Sharp techs experienced with the FN27 finishers are going to continue on to the BPFN11's. YIPPEE! ihatefinishers.

GO TO OTHER THREAD about this Re: F1-22 Error Code

There is another post about this with a bulletin from Germany and is not here in the states.

I think the new Part#'s listed in the bulletin from Germany is good here in the US (If I am thinking of the same bulletin). The new style assist unit I have on order is a 0CWFM1N374019 which I think I pulled from that bulletin. Sharp has 110 on backorder with an ETA of 10/2/23.

            Re: F1-22 Error Code

I've run into this a couple times with a school district that has over 100 of these finishers. One time there was a blob of grease on the lower limit sensor of the lift tray causing it to cycle incorrectly and get out of timing. another time i noticed the flimsy metal on the back of the ASM unit that kept the sensor in the correct spot was bent casing the flag to not be able to move far enough back. again causing the timing of the belts to get out of alignment. both times replacing the ASM Paddle Assembly cured the issue. luckily the BP finishers are significantly easier to replace that from the Previous FN27's 2 screws hold the assembly in vs and entire rod across the length of the finisher.
