    BP series Atlas/Titan Sim6-8

    This is what sharp says:

    When conducting the work with the removal/ installation of Fusing unit, Simulation 6-8 needs to be executed.
    Based on the fact above, we answer to your questions below:
    1. When a new fuser unit - spare parts / consumables - was installed to a machine.
    => Yes.
    2. When a new fuser unit taken out of a new machine is installed to an other new machine?
    => Yes.
    3. When a used fuser unit, taken out of a machine, is installed to an other machine?
    => Yes.
    4. When a new machine should be installed?
    => No. (There is no procedure to remove/ install Fusing unit during the installation of the new machine.)
    5. In all cases when a fuser is installed to any machine regardless where is comes?
    => Yes.

    The thing is, I just did the 6-8 sim on 3 brand new out of the box machines, all of which give me F +3

    Is this something we should be doing while starting op the machine too?

    We've had 3 fusingbelts suddenly unraveling so far.
    2 in the shop, machines that were beeing prepared for delivery.
    One with a client after 1500 prints.

    Yes this needs to be done in the initial setup. We delivered our first BP machine and didn't realize it needed to be done and we were replacing the belt the next week. Unfortunately, it was an hour and a half away.

      Where do you find this information. I dont see anything about this in the set up manual. Or is this in a tech bulletin?

          This also says only to do it when replacing the fuser or when you disassemble the fuser.

          Not when starting up the machine.

            If you have had them failing after install i would definitely do them on setup, the handy guide states f+1 or r+1 is OK.

                Not sure if we do this on setup or not but haven't had this issue so far. But considering what a piece of junk the last couple of series fusers have been I would hope so!!

                  You'd hope when buying a brand new fuser this would be done at the factory.... ugh lol. What happened to just installing a fuser and being done!

                  I have not done this adjustment with any new out of the box units, we'll for sure have to do it when rebuilding these fusers.

                  I wonder why it needs to be done when swapping a fuser from one copier to another? Adjustment is internal to the fuser itself based on the tech doc.... weird

                  I've been lucky, no issues! YET.....

                    We do, and rebuild them as well.

                    First time experiencing this was on the M4070 fusers. Took 2 hours to rebuilt, and about 6 hours to troubleshoot the meandering problem. :|
                    Lack of experience on something new is a killer.

                    Too many things can go wrong on those rebuilds, luckily the color MFP's have the "Core" pre-built.

                    But yeah, we check the fuser meandering at set up.

                      I've been doing it on each unit I've had during the initial setup, one of the Sharp's main tech told me it had to be done when the series just launched, and they reminded us multiple times with bulletins and temporary documentation before the official ones, at least here in France

                        We have not done any at set up. Our first BP was installed over a year ago. We have 60+ in the field now and haven't had any type of fuser failure yet.
