Print gets declined now after installing Apple OS-17. Customer uses user codes which get declined now. Any ideas? OBTW an Iphone with OS16 or less works fine.

Using Dept Codes when printing from mobile devices, especially the latest release, is a very small subset of the printing community.
Your user is likely going to have to wait until Sharp updates this application that was only widely released to the public on Oct 04 2023.
If Dept Code printing is important to this user, that person is likely going to have to roll back their device to iOS 16.
What type of Operating system are the users PCs using in the office? -
