Mac OS Big Sur Sharp MX-M623N

    Hello Everyone,

I need help to setup scan to network folder on my Imac os big sur, but I have an error CE-00, selected servers are no found, contact administrator. I can scan to network folder on a PC windows 10. same setup on the web browser for both PC and Imac Big Sur, but PC works and Imac does not work. can anyone point me to right direction to set up scan to network folder on a mac os big sur?

    Many Thanks,
    Jeff

We don't even mess with scanning to network folder directly to a Mac. We setup scanning to the copier's hard drive(must be enabled in security > ports > SMB, and then you can navigate to the IP > public.

That being said, not entirely sure if it's worth scanning to folder, as it breaks so often due to their updates. The alternative is scan to email, which we only setup for customers with Mac's.

What happens if you use the ipadress of the iMac instead of the computername?

Yep scan to email only on anything OSX/Mac OS. We have enough headaches already to add more

It's actually really easy to do, and I do it all the time, under one condition.

I ask the end user for permission to IP Allocate the Mac Laptop/Desktop.
But it's really easy I promise.
            1. Create a folder. Let's call it Scans.
            2. Go to Sharing.
              • File Sharing> Add Scans Folder
              • Users: User = Read/Write

            3. Copier Address Book
              • Network folder
              • Folder Path = \\(IP ADDRESS)\(SHARED FOLDER NAME)
                • Example: \\192.168.1.200\Scans

              • Username and Password.

            That's it.

The biggest concern you might have is that the IP address of the Mac might change. That's why I IP Allocate the Macs specifically.

            God luck!

I forgot to add, when in doubt, you can use the MFP's built in NAS. Just make sure you have SMBv2 firmware up to date.

The build in NAS is also really easy to do, and I have done it when there are multiple Laptops that come and go, this way the MFP is always static and doesn't change.
