Problem with the Scanner unit / mainboard

Easiest thing you can try yourself is an error reset.


Start up the machine
Look if you're in copy mode in the top left corner (Just ignore the error code window)
Press # * C #
Service mode should pop up
Press 1 4
Press B/W or Color Start button
Bottom right corner on the display select "Execute"
Bottom left corner on the display select "Yes"
Press CA on the keyboard

Machine should restart with "Simulation finishing etc.."
Error gone good, error not gone call someone or open up the MFP top-backside yourself.


From personal experience I mostly had this error in container offices in the winter when the mice where coming in and chewing on the cabel from the Scanner Mainboard.

I think he meant to tell you #*C*.

Application specific integrated circuit - ASIC.
Charge-coupled device - CCD.

It's the chip and circuit on the right side of the flatbed scanner, under the glass.

In many many cases this error caused by a metal paper clip or a staple on the DSPF board.
