    problem sending mail BP55C26

    Hello,

At a customer site we have 10 x BP55C26. One of these has a problem sending mail once in a while. The machine doesn't show any fault on the display. The machine sends, but never delivers the mail. When you power off and on the machine again all the mails will go through again.

I checked the "syslog" and the following got to my attention.

    [SSL] SSL_accept rc:-1 err6 0 (2587)

And there are alot off these messages during the problem.

Does anyone has any idea what could cause this?

    Regards,

    Ramon

    Helllo.

Do all the copiers send with the same SMTP account ? I can think about a spam-sending detection, but this should happen randomly on each copier.

This faulty machine is up-to-date on firmwares ? Can you try with another valid SMTP account and see if the problem still occurs after some weeks of observation ?

How did you set these devices up when they were first installed?

I'm presuming you installed and configured 1 device and once it was working perfectly you cloned the rest?

If so blow the machine away with a data initilisation and start from scratch, manually enter everything and see how you go.

I have had many weird and wonderful issues with cloning from BP55Cxx to BP60Cxx and BP70Cxx devices and vice versa

        Thanks for your replies.

First all the machines have the latest FW. This BP was the first machine that we setup from scratch. We made copies of that one and deployed it to the others. I believe when this will occur again i will do a private initialization that will erase everything and start from scratch. I hope that this will clear the error.

        Thanks.

Who owns the e-mail server? If it's the I.T's, kick it to them. Kuddo's on the clone BTW. :Thumbs Up:

Personally if I was in your shoes I would want to isolate the issue from the printer, from their e-mail server. I think the best way to do this is by creating a free e-mail account for that machine that you can control, and leave it running for a few weeks and see what happens. If there are no issues, you know that its not the printer, and the problem is either with the clients e-mail service.
If there are issues, then it's the printer OR maybe an intermittent network connectivity problem that occurs...

I would definitely isolate the printer first.

Another idea for troubleshooting is to switch the IP of the printer(TEMPORARILY) with a known working one, and see if the problem follows. Especially if it's a quick problem to test.
